Norman Mclaren

A pioneer in a number of areas of animation and film-making, including drawn on film animation, visual music, abstract film, pixilation and graphical sound.


His awards included an Oscar for the Best Documentary in 1952 for Neighbours a Silver Beat for best short documentary at the 1956 Berlin International Film Festival Rhythmic and a 1969 BAFTA Award for best animated film for pas de deux.









Art Clokey
An american pioneer in the popularization of stop motion clay animation, beginning in 1955 with a film experiment called Gumbasia.

Ray Harryhausen
Raymond Frederick ''Ray'' Harryhausen (born June 29, 1920) is an American visual effects creator, writer and producer. He created a bran of stop-motion model animation known as ''Dynamation.''

Among his most notable works are his animation on Mighty Joe Young, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (his first color film) and Jason and the Agronauts, featuring a famous sword fight against seven skeleton warriors.
